i saw dan's sculpture of 'the honey dripper' last night.i have enjoyed thinking about it today. i don't see much new sculpture. he used blonde wood to dipict the honey
dripping.
the first time i looked at it i thought it was the first initial drop
then i saw the lengnth, and tried to remember if real honey dripped that far on the first drip
my first reaction was for it to be the first drip
because we are all supposed to think about the first
first
but thinking about the second drip
i wondered
i went home
i tried it out
i opened a jar of
pure honey
i watched it drip
and the second time
and the third time
looked more like the wood in his sculpture
slow and patient
and riding back up
one fluid motion
but the first does not
have to be captured first
he then told me
they're are supposed to be two more puddles of wood
underneath it
because of the croud
i figured people might step on it
i'm glad those sweet puddles are safe.
