my brother is the best. he made me a tape. we don't have CD burners yet. it will just be a matter of time. in the meantime, i still love the low-tech romance of the cassete. i can guess that some feel this affinity with the 8-track. i know and cherish that vinyl is still respected.
the tape is awesome, "hippies, rockers and ravers, oh my!"

this side a is killer. he goes all te way back to our high school days in the late 80's . i remember listening to the 'new' cure cassete was just released during one of our jobs on the high school play. matt was 2 yrs younger. he acted, and was great backstage. i mostly acted and did publicity. i remember listening to the smiths on college radio on our way for pizza after play rehearsal. man, those were times of crystal purity.
then he moves on to the 90's - spices it with soul coughing from our twenties - takes it up with radiohead and ties it up with a classic velvet underground that influenced us.
i'm so glad to have him in my life. i need to make him a tape too - guess what i'll be doing tonight ...
matt just turned 30 this week. i'm going to be 32 2 weeks from now. it is so good to have these memories and this cassette
